Oooh, thanks for taking time to answer! That sounds like a terrific routine. I, too, am cursed with that little fattie belt below my bellybutton and I'm really trying to blast it away. I assume you're probably eating super-heathily, as well. What do you suggest for after-workout snacks? Sorry to plague you with so many questions but I find that it's especially helpful to get advice from other women who love to lift! Thanks much and be well :)

Layla - what does your weight training program involve? I'm working on doing my weight training and am slowly but surely sliding into a routine. Any suggestions are appreciated! Be well :)

Sounds like you're on a good weight-training program. You build muscle in the kitchen though - hit that lean protein hard!

Oh my gosh, I have a page on this site that I didn't know existed!

NY, thanks!

J Bro, I'm glad to hear other people think I'm on the right track. I generally lift to failure at the end of all my final sets, which isn't hard, because I'm so weak and small right now. It leaves me achy and tired, and then I fall over sometimes (heh) but I love it. I want to be reasonably muscular someday.

From your comment on my weightlifting thread and your description of your goals, it sounds like you're doing all the right things. At least once a week, though, make sure you're lifting to near-failure - that's when your body makes the biggest adjustments and you get the most significant progress! You want to leave that weight area with your legs, arms, or abs quivering (but not all three - that's too much for a single day).

Welcome to Traineo, Layla! I'm a former Lancastrian, now living in NY, and a cat owner, as well. I think you'll find this a supportive, informative and fun community.

Good luck with your program!
